1970's
In 1979, the Manfredi family purchased an existing ambulance
service in Vallejo, California. Medic Ambulance Service began
providing the new standard of care, Emergency Medical Technician
Certification. During the 1970's, State and Local Government,
funded by federal grants, had begun building EMS systems,
formulating regulations and developing standards. Medic Ambulance
Service was involved in the local system, helping to formulate
the concepts and the structures that have come to define EMS,
as we know it today.
1980's
In 1980, Medic Ambulance Service, began providing ALS ambulance
service to the cities of Vallejo and Benicia. We also perfected
our basic and routine transport services as well as our special
event services, giving each patient safe, prompt and courteous
service. In 1983, we were awarded the exclusive BLS ambulance
service contract to the Solano County Fire District. In 1986,
we began providing emergency ALS ambulance service to the
City of Fairfield.
1990's
In 1993, Medic Ambulance Service began providing emergency
ALS ambulance service in the City of Rio Vista, in order to
prevent redundancy, be cost effective and to meet the needs
of the community. During this year, we built and opened our
new administrative offices in Vallejo, California. As we continued
our planned and deliberate growth into new markets, we purchased
a BLS ambulance service in Sacramento County. In addition,
we began to provide wheelchair car service in Sacramento and
Solano Counties. In 1998, we began providing highly sophisticated
critical care transport services staffed by critical care
registered nurses. They assure a continuity of care, handling
transports that once impacted already busy ALS systems. We
also began providing ALS ambulance service in Sacramento County
as well as BLS ambulance services in the counties of Placer,
Yolo and Contra Costa.
We are proud to be the San Juan Unified School District’s
football standby provider for the last nine years.
